Hello there!I would just like to mention that today you aren’t hearing from your usual writer. However, he is so dedicated to giving you something fun to read, that he asked me to think of something fun for you today. And the reason for this is because he is so busy at his new job. Don’t worry, I’ll try to keep it light and interesting! So let’s get down to business… 🙂
I am assuming, if you find yourself in London, you already have your own list of things to see and do. So i will keep away from the things that could be on this list. Things that are implicitly agreed upon that everyone should visit. And this includes the tourist attractions and the historical places.
What this city has to offer – it’s magic. It truly is. So make sure not to miss out on anything. By visiting the historical monuments which are vibrating with tourists, you will discover exactly what it is that draws them here. The beautiful architecture, combined with the amazing people that fill it will make you feel as if you were in a movie. Just this morning I was at Trafalgar Square where this boy was playing a violin, and as I was passing by, his melody just enchanted me that I had to stop and listen to him. I had to stop. There was no freedom of choice. The music he was playing made me feel as if he had a soul of an old man. And yet it seemed as if his music was sending out these invisible magnetic rays that captured every person passing nearby. Me included. So I just stood there, imagining I wore a 1900-century Victorian dress that was a little too heavy for my shoulders, and I just enjoyed the moment. My point is, stop by to listen to the music, absorb all the small, seemingly irrelevant things. It is them that prove that magic actually exists. And this city is filled with it.
- ICE BAR LONDON
I am aware that Ice Bar London has been mentioned here previously, but it is such an amazing place that I have to attempt to make a statement about how great of an experience it is. And trust me, I am against all-things-ice. So coming from me, this is a pretty big deal. It has to blow your mind that in the middle of the summer you can just dissapear into another world, perhaps another universe, where everything is completely different for a few moments. I’d be lying if I said I had no expectations when I entered through that door. I did. And I expected to hate it. And freeze. And leave after 5 minutes. But for every passing moment, even though I actually was freezing, I just wanted to linger a little bit longer. Linger a little bit longer and admire all the ice sculptures, admire our human minds for coming up with something like this and being able to pull it off.
2. OXYGEN FREEJUMPING
You can never be too old to go and jump on trampolines in a trampoline park. I like to believe there is a little child inside each one of us, and we should definitely take care of it. This is just one way to do it. To be completely honest, it is one hell of an exercise as well, the hour we spent in there the other day will keep me off doings sit-ups for a few days!
3. THORPE PARK
Thorpe Park is an amusement park a short ride outside of London. And you must be thinking: “an amusement park? Are you kidding?”. I am sure that you have been to plenty of them ever since your childhood, and that you can’t imagine there could be anything that you haven’t seen yet. And from that perspective, I can’t say there would be anything “new” to see. However, Thorpe Park takes all these rides to a completely new level by giving them a background story and making it into this exciting adventure that you have to experience and not just go on. Does that make any sense? Hmm… let me give you an example; The Saw Ride. Have you seen the movie Saw? In the park, as you are waiting to enter the ride, they make it seem as if you are in the movie, you are the captive one, and there are screens in the waiting line on which Jigsaw appears and talks to you. So their aim is to tell you a story, but also make you feel like you’re a part of the story. That’s what’s left a pretty big impression on me in Thorpe Park. It is a place full of positive energy and amazing experiences that you could never forget, even though it is “just an amusement park”.
4. BUBBLE WRAP WAFFLE & MILKTRAIN
These are just some tasty things that you definitely shouldn’t miss out on. And what’s the best is that they are located in Central London, where you definitely will find yourself at some point, so you don’t have to go far to get them. This is for all of you out there with a sweet tooth! 🙂
5. ARCELORMITTAL ORBIT
Would you believe me if I told you there was just a huge slide in the middle of London, without it being located in a park or something like that? Well there is. And not only that, it is also the world’s longest, fastest and tallest tunnel slide. How cool would it be to be able to say you’ve been on it? With a risk of you laughing at me a little bit, i’ll dare to admit I screamed all the way from the top to the bottom. I was sliding so fast through it that at some moments it felt like falling. I wasn’t completely able to understand what was happening around me that fast. But it was a great experience, that I am glad to have had.
Hope you guys decide to check out some o the things from my list, and I hope you enjoy them just as much as I did! Have a lovely day and stay happy! 🙂
