Back in action

Vacation is over. Time to go back to reality. It’s not fun. But that is sadly a part of being an adult. So now I’m back to work, new energy, new inspiration, new ideas and most important, new motivation.
Being on holiday was nice, seeing all my old friends and my family, and when you only have a week, it turns out to be quite intense days. But totally worth it. I had so much fun. And I met people I haven’t seen in ages. And stuff like that just cuddling up on the couch with your siblings and watch a movie really affect you in a deep level where all the love live, it’s those moments that you remember forever.

It’s been really hard to let go of everyone, to have to say goodbye, and it’s not getting easier. But this journey I’m doing now, is for me, for my future, to help me reach my goals. Everyone has to do this journey sometimes in their life, but in different ways. The most important thing to remember is that you cannot do it alone. Use your friends, your family and your loved ones as support to keep your spirit up.

I visited my old job, Vendels Matrum which is located in Lund, a city in south of Sweden. My friend is both co-owner and the head chef, and the week I came they had a menu tasting which I invited myself into haha, and as usual the food was amazing and was accompanied by amazing wines and various drinks. The reason I like Vendels Matrum is because how they all work as a family, they are a small team with big visions of what a great restaurant should be, and it is! It really is a great place to eat either the tasting menu or just having one dish or even just having a drink. So do me a favor, if you’re ever in South of Sweden for some reason, visit Lund and even more, visit Vendels Matrum. Just look at these pictures. I promise you that it tastes as good as it looks! First out we have scallop with elderberries, oyster and horseradish

Then its raw beef tartar with pecorino, corn and radish

Local tomatoes, sweet/salty crayfish and crown dill

Chicken with cauliflower, truffle and hazelnuts
Turbot with, chanterelles, fennel and peas
